    Central Valley, CA Meetup?

How feasible is this in a completely stock 2019 Cherokee? I've been on a bit of a budget since having to replace my Outback, and have not done any upgrades yet

US West Bodie Ghost Town, Black Point Fissures, and Copper Mountain

i wanted to try to make this trip, as it would have been my first trip doing something other than fishing, and my first trip with a group. However I will be down in southern california instead.

    Fly Fishing

Fly fishing is something i would love to get into. I picked up a fly rod combo this last winter but have not taken it out much. Usually I am fishing a stocked lake here in the central valley area in California, with spin gear and baitcasters. I'm hoping to possibly do a fly fishing trip up in...

WHY did you choose YOUR rig?!

My choice was made in very similar way. I know i'll be on the freeway more than not, and i rarely have more than my wife and kid with me. So the size of the Cherokee was about right for what i wanted and capability should be on par for any camping/fishing trips. I've only had my Cherokee for...

    Advice, opinions?

Ah, I have the 4cyl. only rated for 2000lbs., which is plenty for me since any thing I have ever towed has been below 1500lbs.

    Advice, opinions?

I have already purchased the jeep. to answer your question i do plan on owning for the life of the vehicle. So, either until it breaks down beyond repair or is totaled out.

    Advice, opinions?

Did you install the tow hitch yourself? Also i thought these vehicles were only rated for 2000 lbs., do you have the 4 or 6 cylinder?

    Tool Box Must Haves?

I have several around the house. They get used for working on the car mostly. My garage honestly needs better lighting. Though they are used for other things as well (camping, fishing, kid playing commando with his guns, general use type stuff). I like using the cheaper LED options, they work...

    Tool Box Must Haves?

I might have overlooked it,but i didn't see any mention of a flashlight/headlamp. Hopefully you won't ever have to do work in the dark, but you never know. I prefer the headlamp, as it leaves both my hands free for working.

    What is your rigs name

Haven't really named my new Jeep yet. Been leaning towards MacReady after the lead character of one of my favorite movies, The Thing. In the past I have named previous vehicles Old Blu (small blue truck), Big Red (big red Suburban), Sally (old pick up), Flynn (subaru), and finally Madmartigan...

What piece of gear made the biggest improvement to your experience?

The biggest improvement for me was adding the roof rack to my Outback. It allowed me to get the full sized spare out of the rear cargo area and I had room on it to pack up a couple other boxes or the pop up canopy. This was especially helpful when i took the family on a fishing trip or camping...

    Roof racks

Finally had some down time to look those up. Those are seriously good looking racks. Will have budget that amount though. Thank You for the pointer.

    Roof racks

I will look into that thank you. Also the attachment you provided did not work.

    Roof racks

Sorry i should have specified. Yes it is a hard top. I have the 2019 Cherokee with the factory side rails. I saw some of the posts with the search function, still would like to what others have done or are doing.

    Roof racks

I posted a couple weeks back about having to replace my rig and the response here was great. Thank you for the good convo, guys. That said, my first addition to the Jeep is going to be a roof rack or basket setup. I really like that front runner slim profile but that price is up there. I'm...

    Advice, opinions?

Thank you. As much as I would love to "trailblaze" in a much more capable rig, it really is beyond what I would do on a regular basis. Maybe that will change in time. I certainly would love to get out in more isolated campgrounds with my family and friends, but we have fun as it is and that's...

    Advice, opinions?

No. It's not a Trailhawk. Would be nice to own one though.

Thank you. I look forward to getting as much out of it as possible. Of course one step at a time though.
