So, I did add the ARB Touring awning to Ruby. Passenger side.

Considering questions I got... I have the mounting rails mounted for sideways extension. For rearward, you actually would have to cut the rails and turn them 90 degrees... As far as fit is concerned: When folded, the tent is approximately 14" tall, 56" wide, and 48" long; so in the current...

    SOLD Tuff Stuff RTT

Pretty much brand new. Used once on Ruby, but I don't like how top heavy she feels with it mounted; so it has to go. Comes with all the original parts (incl. annex room etc.,) mounting rails installed for sideways extension. All hardware essentially brand new. Ruff Stuff Ranger Overland tent...

    Death Valley?!

Thanks. That is a lot of good info! I actually already figured that I'd probably be better off shooting both sunset and sunrise at striped butte, since I plan on overnighting there already, before heading over to Badwater to shoot the sunset there. To fill the time, I am thinking about driving...

    Death Valley?!

Both. Thinking about some sunrise and sunset photographs, plus some structures (probably during the day, between sunrise/sunset.) Right now thinking about 2 days, but I am somewhat flexible...

    Death Valley?!

Thanks./ Yeah. Got my winch, recovery equipment, will have plenty of water and food, as well as tire repair kit(s) etc. Just don't want to wreck Ruby :)

    Death Valley?!

Yeah, the guy I watched did hit a couple of times over Mengel Pass. Will definitely have to be careful, stop and assess, and possibly build up if I do that one. On the good side, looks like once I'm past Mengel should be easy sailing... Still. Solo, it seems a bit risky in a non-lifted Rubicon...

    Death Valley?!

Hi everyone - Need some advice... I will be attending a photography workshop in Joshua Tree NP from March 8th to the 12th 2019. Since this is a pretty good haul from Western Iowa, I was thinking about adding on to the trip by also visiting Yosemite and Death Valley, since I'm "in the area."...

    Pulled the trigger...

Thanks. Another good option, looks like. Just waiting for the cold to go away; working in an unheated garage in IA winter is no fun :)

    Solar panel for off-grid camping

Looks like it's this one... http://amzn.to/2BFqO0Z - Google Photo search to the rescue :)

    Solar panel for off-grid camping

Yeah, I started looking at these panels using your posted link from the other post. Figured, due to the low efficiency of solar panels in general, I'd go for the highest wattage I could get for my application - as long as the price weren't exorbitant. These (http://amzn.to/2CM43rH) seem to fit...

    Solar panel for off-grid camping

Nice. Yeah, my 24W little one has been in my camping gear for a couple of years. Works great for iPhone, iPad, my Macbook Pro, and charges my handheld CB (the Ham/GMRS is in Ruby, so runs of the battery.) I was looking at other panels to permanently mount on the roof rack, but with the RTT...

    Solar panel for off-grid camping

Since I did add an ARB fridge to my setup, but am still 'investigating' the best way to add a deep cycle battery, I decided to add another lightweight, but more powerful, solar panel to my gear. I've had a 24W triple-USB port panel (http://amzn.to/2Bg5Fxs) I use with great success to top off my...

Thanks. I’ll check them out. Somebody in response to the guy who did this to his 2012 mentioned them as well. Only question would be fit... Alain (‘Alan’) via OB Talk on iPhone

    Pulled the trigger...

No worries. Long term a dual system is probably the right way to go; just looking at a temporary bridging solution that would allow me to keep the electrical system as is (with possibly a dual-purpose battery) for now, until I have a better idea of what I want to do long term...
