$700!!!!! Holy shit! That seems crazy to me. It does take some time, but isn't what I'd call hard at all. I'd check some local 4x4 shops in the area, because I'm sure you could find a better price than them. Any Overland shops in that area?
Nice sounding set-up. I agree with ZJ Grizzly above, that the weight may restrict you from getting into places with 2wd only. Have you thought about lockers perhaps? Not always cheap, but possibly cheaper than buying a 4x4 on a budget.
Very cool. Yeah, my wife didn't like the straight bar sliders I had, so I went with some with a kick-out (She uses it as a step) , which turned out to really help me over some big rocks.
