I am concerned about being top heavy on my little one.
I don’t think you will have any issues. Those trailers are heavy enough. Just sleep on the trailer end of the tent [emoji23]. Worst case you can get some trailer jacks for the food out side of the tent. I personally think you’ll be okay tho.
Yes and no.
Yes- so I can drive around with camp set up elsewhere.
No- because I actually want to get a 2nd tent for the trailer so my kids can have their own sleeping area.
I’m more inclined to just get a second one, that way if it’s just me, I can take the trailer and be able to drive...
Hey y’all. Figured I’d post up some pictures of the maiden voyage. I still haven’t done fenders or the latches. I really just wanted to roll it out and see how it pulls.
Everything worked out awesome. It’s cool to have this to keep everything dry and clean. Enjoy.
My only...
My messages don’t even work on the app. Never have. I can click from notifications but says I have to have valid ID? I thought for a min they were going to be fixed, but still don’t work.
Performance or cosmetic parts are the last of your worries. Get a tent and stove and drive. Find out what you need for what you’ll be doing. You’ve got the perfect rig. Keep it stock and drive the wheels off of it.
Nothing much going on with the Jeep. Looked under it the other day to this:
So that’s lame. Ha ha maybe time for liberty brakes. Or a D44? Or an $8 cylinder. We’ll see.
Anyways. I started another thread for the trailer. Check it out:
Custom Jeep trailer...
Made progress tonight. My axle finally came in yesterday after about a month and a half.
After install- I can’t quite decide if I should have left it under the axle or not. I first anticipated it to be way high, now I think it’s too low. Best thing will be to line it up with the Jeep and see...
From day 1 I knew I wanted to put full size tires on. I also figured i might as well not mess around and get matching wheels and tires as the Jeep.
To do so, I needed to get a new axle- the original axle was a 3500lb 5on5 weird one off axle that I couldn’t find hubs for. It was also too short...
Figured I’d start a trailer thread instead of cramming it all on my Jeep thread.
Bought this little toad a while ago-
It’s completely custom made. From tongue to back door. I don’t know the original builder, but I’m the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner never used it. (Sold his rig for a full size)...
Little progress on the trailer yesterday.
First framed out some 1” 90 for the lid.
Welded on some hinges and set some gas struts. Voila.
Going to be a few weeks before the tent rack can get installed. Hopefully I get the axle and wheels before camping this next weekend. [emoji573]
Took a minute today to throw the jacks on all corners. Once installed I realized I’d hate to hand crank all of them so I cut the handles off and welded a lug nut on the gear drive. I will carry a 12v drill with socket for quick jack deployment. [emoji1360]
Next will be a paint job as I...
Took a trip a few months ago up the northern Uintas.
It was the first trip in about 2 years without my drawer setup and it only wanted me to get making another one. (Easier said that done.) it’s coming soon. Just want to get everything in order and all ideas on the table.
In the mean...
Here’s some shots from our drive last weekend. Wanted to put some miles on her to test out the new evap can. Well worth it.
