Slowly setting up the Rebel. Ran wiring to the bed for the fridge, a 12v outlet and usb, and bed and under rack lights to see cargo with a switch in the bed. Installed an Auxbeam controller for adding lights up front, reverse lights in the bumper (with a diode so can run them when in reverse...
That is a LOT of work since they don't make gears/anything for the front axle (yet)!
Sometimes with the trailer on, on forest service roads, I could tell the top of the box was almost an inch farther away from the body than the bottom... and that was with about 900lb tongue weight.
Recently upgraded from a Rebel 1500 to a Rebel 2500.
The 1500 had a Vice Design front bumper & skids w/winch, Rocky Road sliders, tonneau cover - it just didn't have enough payload for our camper (it was at the limit when we loaded all our stuff in the truck with the camper hooked up)...
We only setup the annex if we were out more than two nights. We recently sold our Patron and bought a toy hauler (w/bathroom for the wife!) but we had it down to where she did the main area and I did the annex and we would normally be done within 45 minutes with beer/water breaks and not being...
Patron off road camper. $18k obo
Awesome off-road camper - will go nearly anywhere your 4x4 will.
200ah of battery power, 2000w inverter, NoCo Genius AC/DC charger (hardwired to outside plug), 120w portable solar panels with charge controller.
Slide out cooktop and sink, multiple slide outs...
Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett. Works great on 12V - doesn't pull much once running. I've done 12 hour cooks on it and solar kept the batteries charged +.
Pulled the Patron from Denver to Sonoita, AZ for a music camping weekend (no 4wheeling) - had people stopping by all weekend to check it out. (yes I didn't have the crossbars installed on the annex when I took this).
The Rebels mileage was nothing to write about (wind both directions - of...
When it closer to your trip let me know and we can talk about trails, there are definitely some that are too tight to drag a trailer on.
We camp mostly around Buena Vista (Mt Antero/Baldwin lake and four mile area), Tincup area, and north of Blackhawk (pickle gulch/Dakota hill, Yankee hill...
We love our Black Series Patron - two years old. It is a heavy beast, but we have drug it up some rough CO mountain 4x4 trails with no issues. Upgraded the battery charger -solar panels are next, lead crystal batteries are still working well (it stays plugged in in the garage), just got a...
How did the Gladiator do pulling your Patron? I haven't even hooked it up to ours yet - so was wondering about rear sag? We use the 4runner for most 4wheeling/camping trips, but will use the Gladiator a few times this summer.
The beach pics are great.
What fridge did you go with - looks like a dual temp?
We went with the iceco 74 single temp and I’m very happy with how it works.
I have RSG bolt-on sliders. They have held up well, they are gouged to crap in places from rocks and have held up the full weight of the truck a few times. Bolt on sliders are plenty strong if they are designed right.
We had a couple things that weren't big deals, but the customer service/warranty people are not helpful. We drove down to Mesa to get ours because the dealer here in Denver wanted $1k over msrp.
The bracket, on the box side, for the kitchen slide lock wasn't installed right and allowed the...
