Just getting started....
Based in north Florida.
Current vehicle: 2018 Chevy Colorado
Overlanding has a few significant draws for me. One, camping has always been a time to reset, relax and become more grounded. Therefore, obviously I'd love to build on that experience. Two, I'm a photographer, so there's the desire to document experiences, locations and memories. And three, I love to design, improvise and problem solve.
Hello Todd, welcome to the OB family.

Hey Everyone! Really looking forward to being apart of this community. I’ve been a longtime lurker and have decided to pull the trigger to build out my truck for overlanding and join ya’ll on adventures!

Location: Bay Area, CA

Rig: ‘08 Silverado LT (w/ lots of goodies)

Overlanding Experience Background: I would definitely say novice. I got around 2 or so years on my belt, but only ventured out every so often whilst going to Tahoe, San Diego or Dodge Ridge. My rig may not be the absolute best due to it being 2WD but it’s my first truck/vehicle (had since I got my license back in 2014) and it has outperformed many of my expectations and others while safely performing on trails.

Looking forward to adventuring with you!

Hello Semisi, welcome to the OB family.
You shouldn't worry about having 2WD. Plenty of folks on here do this with the same setup. Check out this for more. 2WD Rigs

2) SW Washington. Vancouver area.
3) 2012 T4R Limited, Light MODs because I haven’t broke anything yet.
4) Lots of experience in the backcountry but little true overlanding experience. I just wish I found this site long ago.

Hello , Welcome to Overland Bound.
I am the Northwest Director. @jcgraves3 is your closest member representative.
To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).
Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.
Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.
Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.
Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.
Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.
Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.
Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails.

Hello, Happy to be here, I’m originally from AK so definitely not new to overlanding. Me and my family love the lifestyle, along with the dogs too. Oh and we have 2 Jeep’s we take when we go a WK2 and a KL.
Hello Rachael, welcome to the OB family.

Hi Rachael!

Hey all

New to overlanding in civilian life but did plenty of the Army version lol. Glad to join the team. I live in Tennessee and drive a lifted and partially armored 2017 JGC (work in progress). My wife goes along on trips and she drives a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk with a lift. Our most recent trip was to the Georgia traverse with our Boxer puppy name Gaia (yes like the gps app). Look forward to meeting some of you.

Mike

Hello Mike. Thank you for your service and welcome to the OB family.

Hi everyone. My name is Wayne, and I am new to overlanding. Coming from the tarmac where I participated in SCCA events in mostly Time-Trials and Autocross. I love the idea of the adventure that overlanding promises. I've always loved Land Rover Discoveries and have, for the past 10 years owned a few but never had the confidence in them to take them off into the mountains. Recently, I decided to buy a mid-sized truck, but I didn't want to by a Tacoma because, well, they are fairly common. Nothing WRONG with that, but I wanted something a *little* different. Not, "Rare", just a little different, so I purchased a 2021 Ford Ranger with the Tremor package.

Now I need to use it. I don't intend to keep her this pretty for long. I have a bed rack and roof rack being built. I am ordering a set of upgraded bumpers that can support a winch, turbo upgrades, and exhaust.

These are pictures from our last trip into the Cascades. The truck (lots of upgrades coming) and my Wife and youngest son, Erica and Jack.

Hello everyone,

I'm Sergio and I ride around in a Toyota Tacoma. I just bought it recently and have an itching to travel. I live in Livermore, CA, so one of my short term goals is to visit state parks and explore my local OHV parks. I although I've been on many road trips I would consider myself a novice when it comes to outfitting an ohv overland rig. Long term I plan to use the resources in this forum to OUTFIT AND EXPLORE! I hope to grow and learn alongside the community and hope to one day see you out on the trail.

Hello Semisi, welcome to Overland Bound. With a good set of tires you would be amazed at where a two wheel drive truck will take you.
