Rally Point Details:

With the rain finally letting up I am planning a last minute trip to Frank Raines OHV park in Patterson this Sunday, March 31st.

It is a great place to do a shakedown of your rig, find its limits, and practice driving in 4-Lo. I plan on being there at 9 AM. I would be glad to jump in with anyone needing some off-roading advice. A lot of times, just watching other rigs lines and speed will give you the confidence to try it in yours. I am not planning to do anything crazy, just some basic trails.

This OHV park has well-marked trails that are graded like ski runs, Green=Novice, Blue=Intermediate, Black=Expert (it does have some steep hill climbs, which you can avoid). My 17-year-old son drove last time and he did great! The park will let you choose the level of off-roading your comfortable with.

Things to Rember

  1. $5 per car to enter.
  2. Bathrooms are available.
  3. Food is not available, nearest food is in Patterson, 17 miles away
  4. Bring water.
  5. Be prepared with tools and things your vehicle may need.
  6. If you have the ability to air down and up your tires, that will be a benefit to you, but not necessary. You do not even have to have off-road tires.
