Rally Point Details:
A month of heavy rains and winds have wreaked havoc on the road leading to PATC's Blackburn Trail Center in Round Hill, VA in western Loudoun County.
You’ve talked about it! Now it’s here!
Rally Point: Costco in Leesburg
Time: 7:45 AM
Departure: 8:05 AM (sharp)
In coordination with PATC (via volunteer.gov), I’ve negotiated an opportunity to perform maintenance along a 2 mile stretch of somewhat maintained fireroad leading up the Blackburn Trail Center in Round Hill, VA. All nestled up against the Appalachian Trail.
- What: Clearing of fallen and collected natural debris. Trees, redig culverts etc.
- Why: Preventative maintenance to reduce risk of serious erosion to the integrity of the road surface and surrounding mountainside.
- Where: 34899 Appalachian Trail Rd, Round Hill, VA 20141
- Who: YOU! All skillsets are welcome!
- Details: Tools will be provided for us but feel free to bring a favorite one if you want. Don't forget to bring food and water, maybe a first-aid kit. Please dress appropriately! We won't be at the beach, we'll be in the woods on a road just like what we wheel on.
Rally Point: Costco in Leesburg
