Rally Point Details:
It goes from the Board tree campground over Hull Mntn to Bear Campground, about 60 miles of mostly easy roads. The climb up Hull Mntn is steep but should be doable in a 2WD truck, 4x4 definitely better. High clearance if you want to drive to the lookout on Hull, which is a spur. And Bear Campground had a bathroom last in April 2021.
Board tree is not fram from Hwy 162 - it is dirt road but a state highway. Makes a late night arrival at Board tree. Depending on how many come Steve may go up early and stake out spots for a Friday night. Saturday drive to Bear Creek. Sunday is an easy drive home. Bear Creek is high, it was cold in April.
Lets assume Hull Mntn will be clear of snow by June.
This is all on major MNF roads - any downed trees should be gone.
This is a very tame trip. 2WD would do it so long as the snow is gone.
Steve has a wee 12" electric chainsaw for any trees. After the fires and now a heavy snow we may expect a lot of downed trees which is why only major forest roads.
