Rally Point Details:
All those who were there the last time know that it is very difficult to get the place and even more difficult to get a permit to drive on the place with motorized vehicles. Today the good news: I have succeeded and we will have the same nice place again from May 5 to 7, 2023 as in 2022 and we will be able to host our Mid Europe Spring Meetup again.
It is very important that we are again very careful with the place and leave no tire marks and only stand on the solid ground (unfortunately, we had someone with us last time who destroyed the grass surface at one spot unnecessarily and we had to work on that after the meetup). And we have a limit of 20 vehicles, more is not possible!
For all those who could not be present last time and as a reminder some important information:
- The location is a small, simple campground directly at a small creek. It is located approx. 1.5h drive south of Frankfurt/ Main, Germany. Exact directions will be provided in time to attendees who registered by RSVP in the RP.
- Basic sanitary facilities are available.
- Every evening we will light the campfire of course. Firewood will be provided.
- The meetup is designed as a self-catering meeting. A grill will of course be available, charcoal will be provided. Please bring what you like to eat and drink, also your own grill if you like, Dutch Oven, etc. Just as you like.
- Saturday and Sunday we will have breakfast altogether. For breakfast I will try to organize the bread service again.
- Number of attending rigs limited to 20 – please register by RSVP in the RP. All OB members are welcome and this is not limited to Mid Europe members.
- Attending fee to cover costs will be the same as last time, so 25 Euro per person. I kindly ask you to bring this to the meetup in cash (preferably counted), please. Thank you.
- We are out in the nature. Actually, this goes without saying, but the important thing is that we leave the place in order again. Therefore, we will also clean up together Sunday before departure. Everyone is responsible for themselves and their actions; this is not an organized event.
- Please be careful when driving on the site especially if the ground is wet and do not leave tire. Stay with the vehicles on solid ground. If your vehicle loses operating fluids (which is not good but could happen), please remember to bring a cover/cardboard and put it underneath.
- For those who bring dogs: the dogs must behave, obey (there is forest around) and that you clean up after your dogs is I think also natural.
- Let´s behave as always in such a way that we can come back next year, please.
So, the meetup will be characterized again by enjoying the outdoors together, good conversations and some education regarding overlanding skills.
