Rally Point Details:
This rally requires a bit of planning to do.
All vehicles have to have a OHV beach permit.
You have to contact the ferry service in Davis, NC to reserve a spot for your vehicle to and from the island. There are 2 ferry's that carry vehicles. Prices average $85 round trip.
Camping is free.
The event start/finish times are not exact, as you will have to work around the ferry schedules.
You have to bring everything you will need for your stay.
For the permit, Obtain the ORV driving permit through recreation.gov
(If you need to use the search box -- use "Cape Lookout National Seashore ORV Permits" as your search criteria)
All vehicles will need to have this permit to drive on the islands. The ORV Driving Permit must be purchased online prior to arriving on the islands through the recreation.gov website. Park staff will not be able to issue the permits on the islands. The permits will be available January 1st of 2022 through recreation.gov.
Between January 1st through March 10th 2022, the price for the driving permit will be $25, and your window decal will be mailed to you. Be sure to include your mailing address when purchasing your permit.
Starting on March 11th, when the islands open to vehicles, the cost of the driving permit will increase to $50 for the rest of the season.
