Hey bro, glad to see someone else using LRs, I am currently using a 2006 LR3 to Overland the Dominican Republic, its still a work in progress, but I can say it has blown my mind with its off-road capabilities and its intelligent locker system.

I don't currently own one but my goal one day is to have a Defender 110. A little hard and expensive to come by in the Northwest but who knows maybe one day the Defender fairly will grant me my wish.

I would love to own a defender. They are maximum cool factor. The style and such. I would use it around town, but honestly it would be a show piece. For trips and such a Discovery 4/LR4, in my opinion, wins hands down.

A defender doesn't eat the miles like a cross linked air suspension IFS rover. It is cramped (on your shoulder against the window), has poor HVAC, noise harshness, vibration. Can't really get up to real highway speeds (depending on motor, but most are slow) and the list goes on. Comfort may get downplayed for cool factor reasons, but on a long trip, I want comfort.. .i don't want to be massively fatigued from the drive.

Just my opinion. I would still love to own one though.

Me Too! but comfort ...oh yes....they are getting crazy expensive here in the UK... 110's and 130's are now silly money for a good spec model. Most will never be used for what they were designed for either...London money pushes the price sky high.
