That has got to be the coolest custom center console I have seen.
More details please.
Do those boxes lift out? It looks like the latches would be challenging to open in their current position. And if they lift out, how are they restrained while in their places?

Thanks! I don’t care for standard consoles due to wasted space. That plus the fact this was delivered without a console made a need for something.
They’re 50 caliber cans. I used the base plate for a radio console to give a flat plane, then bolted them in place. The latches can be worked, but is easier on the three to the rear for the latch to just hang in place.
Not obvious is the front can has one side cut out for heat of the radio which is 95% hidden.

That's an awesome console. I did something similar with mine by using a 20mm mortar can bolted down in place of the fold down table the CR-V comes with.
I've never seen anyone make a console by using the cans sideways, though - very clever.

I placed them sideways to get many more in place, and maximize volume.
