I just had a splurge as the wife is in a good mood and said she would let me buy something....... yippee!!!!

I have therefore just paid for a Lazer Lamp Triple R28 light bar with all fixings and Wiring kit (see below)

Secondly I decided to upgrade the HUGE Land Rover Steering wheel and go for something a bit more user friendly.

I can't wait until they all arrive now

Just thought I'd follow up this post with a photo of the newly fitted steering wheel. Incidentally if anyone was wondering what TMD stands for it is Tune My Defender. It's a company which specialises in modifications for the Land Rover Defender. (http://tmdtuning.com/)

So I bought a new head unit today.. a Kenwood DDX-9717BTS. Including installation and the frame and stuff it gets me back almost a grand but I shouldn't have to buy something else soon because it is loaded with features :)
Good choice. Have owned 3 DDX head units. Very happy with them.

Did the L brackets come with the awning? I'm not sure I would trust them on a trail. keep an eye on them!
No they didnt. But these L bracket seems sturdy enough. With some locknuts on. It should be fine. The awning only weighs 35lbs.

Thanks :) It was recommended by the shop that will do the install as well. My GF badly wanted a CD player (DVD is a bonus extra :) ) And the shop had other brands but they mainly sold Kenwood due to the quality and support. I didn't agrue and pulled the trigger on one of the top radio's in the line..

The last thing I bought for my JK was gas. Shocking, I know.

The next thing I'm buying ... well, there are two things: first, a new windshield (It's collected enough rocks and branch smacks), and second some limb risers. Probably the Smittybilt ones, unless someone here as a better idea...

I originally had my ARB 2000 mounted the same way and had no problems, even with miles of washboards. Of course, now I have FourTreks mounts . . .

I bought these stretchy screens on Amazon (it's not pulled all the way down in this picture) and they worked great! Able to have a nice breeze while sleeping inside, should be really nice in hot weather.

Not sure what's next. Maybe a mozzy room for my awning?

I'm going to pickup a fire extinguisher and possibly a shovel before the trip this weekend. Been meaning to get a fire extinguisher and a little bigger shovel for a while now.

Are those vehicle specific or a universal thing? Any chance of a link?

It's very sturdy, it has a 2 1/2 inch mattress which is very firm and I have a down comforter and a couple
Of pillows folded up inside. It was nice and comfortable.
