What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Ran segment 2 of the Enchanted Rockies Trail with @2WheelRob. It’s been a very long time since any road maintenance has occurred. Rocks and more rocks, all because of weathering.

I did spy a cactus in fire ring that has been dormant a while.

Jeep was at the dealer about 2 weeks for an EGR failure. Got it back!
I reinstalled Banks pedal monster and Tazer mini.
Borrowed my moms blue sahara, its only seen dirt once when I forced her to wheel with me, when I had my JK.

Revamped my kitchen setup.

I had a crack at using one of these bins as the kitchen before, without success, but I think last time I was using only the left bin. I had been using a plano sporsman's trunk previously, but I finally decided I just hate it, so I was determined to make this work. This means, of course, that a bunch of my "camp stuff" and my recovery gear need new homes, but I think this is far more practical. Behind the coleman stove is the hose, two folding fry pans, two melamine plates and a pair of stacking baskets with handles (just visible peeking out behind the stove on the left of the bin) with dishwashing stuff in one and coffee filters, sugar, salt and pepper, coffee filters, etc. in the other. My folding camp kitchen goes in front of the wheel beneath these bins, which also puts me under the awning. Methinks I even have space in that left bin for a bottle of whiskey...heh.

Figured I needed this in my tool box for the diesel heater exhaust! Home made spark arrester! Used 2 deep well sockets to form it and then rounded the edges! Interesting bonus is that the base expands due to the folds!

Went wheeling my buddy and his wife, we did 2 badge of honor trails. Gold Mountain and John Bull. Their 4runner on 37s and portals struggled a little bit, needing to be recovered 3 times, but not bad for a Toyota.

Used my morning commute to figure out the differences in gas mileage using the various modes available in the BS. Same conditions over 3 days.

Normal

That could mean getting to a gas station with those 24 extra miles in economy.
We'll see how that changes with our trip to Colorado Springs with 4 adults, a dog, and roofbox.

Installed the roofbox yesterday evening after the temp dropped below 100°. Even then, it was only a 5 minute job. Took longer to adjust it on the crossbars than attach it.

Today's commute says I lost one whole mpg with it on.

nice looking cap. I've owned several over the years and it doesn't look like any big brand in the US...A.R.E, LEER, SnugTop
the latches and top rails are definitely different. the rails on top look like unistrut, but unistrut doesn't have side holes like that. only thing I can think of is its an import from something like Ali-Express or something

I definitely like the rear door. my current cap is an ARE and the entire back is glass with a very small frame. I'd rather have a smaller window like that with more meat around the glass.

Thank you for the information, I think you right from Ali-Express. Need to figure out what type of rook racks will fit on it now. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

After visiting the Royal Gorge Bridge, we went on Skyline Drive.
