What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Out with my Land Rover club this last Sunday

I recently added my privacy tent back onto my rig using a telescoping TV mount.

It locks when in motion. I needed to get distance away from the truck as well as move backwards to miss the ladder that comes down from the rooftop tent.

Nothing, but did a photoshoot with a new flashlight that just came in.
Its a neat flashlight too, has 3 lighting options. Flood light, spot light, and side light (which has many features/colors/flash). Also can be a power bank as it uses two 4000mah 18650s.

Had the 80 repainted to Toyota Super White. Not a fan of the Black Bedliner applied by PO. Also had the hood and rear lower hatch painted, removed all the pinstriping and applied undercoating on the 200.

Upgrade the hose on my viair 440p. The clamping nozzle was driving me crazy, never clamped on the tire valve.
So I got a dual hose, spiral hose, and smaller quick fit connectors. Looks good on paper, but hoping the 1/4 quick connects aren't too small and slow down the air flow, the original ones are 3/8".

The size of the adapter is not so much of a problem it is the valve core restrictions that slows the flow a Schrader valve normally only inflates at 70 -100 liters/min. We use something similar to this product which removes the core inside the nozzle and massively reduces the time needed to inflate or deflate the tyre.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Paul

Just curious, so i remove the core from stem, then pop on my compressor?

I didn't seem to have any issues with filling time with the factory viair hose clamp, just that the clamping itself was really bad, but still filled the tires at a decent speed.

No in fact you attach the compressor to the tyre and then you can remove the valve core inside the device dead simple, I was happy with the fill rate until I used one of these, I suppose the best way to describe the difference is when you want to seat a tyre bead you normally remove the valve core to increase the volume of air and seat the bead quickly ,pretty much all tyre shops will do this then replace the valve stem and inflate to the required psi.

Take a look at a Milton Valve. It is a valve stem remover/bypass air chuck. I sort of disagree with another member that it drastically increases your fill rate of your tire. Does it go faster but not a lot. Yes the valve stem reduces the inlet volume but we are talking seconds not minutes. Here is the link and there is a guy on YouTube that timed it and he only gained 15 seconds with the Milton valve.

The test starts around the 26 minute mark.

Received my cheapo compressor and installed the 70-110 psi pressure switch! Tomorrow we finish up the Anderson connectors and then test!

Tested out the new dual hose, and they work fantastic! Cut down on filling time by a lot! Usually I'm last to fill (since I'm on 38x13.5x17), but I finished earlier than everyone last time we went wheeling. Very happy with my setup.
