You could also get a solar generator from someone like EcoFlow or Bluetti. I assume they are both going to be doing Prime Day deals on Amazon. Plug it into the 12v plug in your rig to keep it charged while driving, run the fridge off of the solar generator. Then you have extra power to charge up a phone or laptop or GoPro etc. 500-750w of a solar gen would be sufficient for a few days with the fridge without recharging. The smaller sogens can’t really handle big AC draws from stuff like a hair dryer or heat gun etc, but it’s suitable for simple stuff.

Great suggestions. In reality, I'll probably install a dual battery setup, but still doing my investigating. For now, I'm just trying to get past this weekend. Lol. All in due time...

I run my ARB Element 63 qt off a Bluetti ac200. I get as little as 4 days without recharge if it's 90+ degrees out can go much longer the cooler it is outside. The ac200 has apx. 2000 watt hours/180ish amp hour storage. I have 400 watt of solar that can keep it fully charged while in use when stationary and 12v charging while on the move. The fridges have a rough time when it's really hot out and can really eat the power up.

Just a quick update on the Domestic cooler. I did you weekend camping trip with my single vehicle battery. When I parked the car at 6p for the day, the voltage measured at 12.5V. The next morning, I started the car at 9a, some 15 hours later. I only ran the cooler on the battery and nothing else. At the time I started the Jeep, my battery read 12.4V. No issue with startup. In the future, I may be running the LED lights on my awning in addition to the cooler, so I'm feeling doubtful that I'll be needing a dual battery setup :)

Installed KC chase light. I wired the amber (chase) lights and the white (reverse) lights through the sPOD. I'm using the white for work lights because I already have LED pods for reverse lighting.

Alright I got a lot done!

Doesn’t look like much but it is time consuming. Lights, and the wiring of them.
I use cheap rock lights for my camp lights because…well they are cheap and I just need rugged water proof lights. That braided cord goes to the 12 pin plug I installed previously.

I put 4 around the sides with custom mounts to angle them out but not into my eyes at camp. I had an extra one so I mounted it for the cargo area. To that same circuit I wired in amber LED’s to my tool boxes on the @KB Voodoo rack.

On a separate circuit I have power going up into my tent, I added an automotive plug so if I need to detach the tent from the rack it’s easy (not pictured yet). I have a 3rd light circuit that will be an amber spotlight for the top of my PullKitchen. The PullKitchen has no shortage of lights but the tops can be a little dark as the LED’s shine from underneath the tops in the storage areas.

Btw I don’t like most tent mount systems for off road durability so I used long carriage bolts through the aluminum extrusions to lock nuts.

I added pull handles for my monster paws

I also decided to add an extension to hold more gear under the rack to effectively make the cargo tray longer

This is all on top of a Diamondback cover, and it designed to lift off in less than 5 minutes.

Here are some more photos of the area light mounts, the 12 pin connector that powers the rack, how the power panel and air compressor configuration looks, the KB Voodoo tonneau cover bracket location, tent power, and my slide-based camping solutions.

12 Pin connector, allows to me quickly connect and disconnect the rack from the truck to remove the rack andtent as a whole unit.

KB Voodoo bracket, I have the 5.5ft bed, and I drilled out the little bolt and screwed in a grade 8 bolt

Power to the tent with an automotive disconnect plug if I need to separate the tent and rack. This power goes to the switched LED light inside the tent, a 12v to 5v usb charger step down, and an external switched LED light near the ladder. There is a master switch on the power panel in the truck bed to kill all power to the tent so I don’t have to wonder if an LED light was mistakenly left on when the tent is closed up.

Now I don’t like to brag, but my pull out game is strong ….

Wired up the chase and rear lights prior to putting the tent back on. Tent goes on tonight with the help of some friends.

Do you have the chase lights wired or set to strobe? or just constant on?

Thanks! And they are wired to a trigger controller so they can strobe if need be. But typically I just run them on constant when moving.

What were the temps? This can make a huge impact on power draws when talking about 12v refrigerators. My little Jackery 300 will run my no name 21 quart Amazon fridge for over 50 hours on a charge at 70 degrees. But in a 140 degree car interior when the engine was off drew that same battery down to less than 25 percent in 11.5 hours and in a 100 degree garage it lasted 18 hours to about the same percentage.
