I took my 4-1/2 year old granddaughter for a ride to a friend's hay farm, to pick up a few hay bales. She wants me to help her set up a Harvest / Halloween Display for the front lawn. I'm game. Anything to make her happy; and I don't mind a road-trip(even for a short distance) .

We stopped at the Double Arches for breakfast.
awh...she's a cutie...no way you can say NO to her for anything! :)

Rattlecanned some SE wheels I'm collecting up so I have a set of MTs for Off Pavement trips that I can keep stored and run my Cooper ATs for daily and light trail use. And rerattlecanned my sliders to the same color as the SE wheels. "Satin Otter Brown"

I'm still annoyed by the front end or steering rattle I hear and feel when off-road. I've searched and searched but cannot find the source. I noticed our work Canyon is now starting to do it too. So a bit of research on other forums found that there is a similar problem on Silverados stemming from the intermediate steering shaft. Something about grease leaking out or not being distributed where it needs to be. I have no idea if ours is similar or not but I figured it's worth a shot!

So I followed one guy's fix which involved tapping a hole into the shaft and screwing in a zerk fitting then filling the shaft with a heavy duty grease. I figure worst case is the rattle is still there but maybe dampend a bit. I'll report back sometime next week. lol

Didn't do it today but did it this weekend. I blacked out my badges, except the Lexus badge. Used dupli-color custom wrap in carbon black. And installed the orangeboxx PSD panels.

Interesting to know, I haven't noticed it on my Silverado (not sure if 3/4 tons also have the issue) and it's been offroad a lot. I do have sort of a clunk I get now and again. I've had it at a great Chevy service department (JCWages you might remember "Richie Rich" who runs Abel Chevrolet's parts and service department, for everybody else he's an avid enthusiast who has won Optima's Ultimate Street Car challenge a few times, but is also an outdoorsman and snowmobiler and stuff, if you have a GM anywhere near Rio Vista, CA and need service I highly, HIGHLY, HIIIIIIIIIGHLY recommend Rich and Abel) and apparently it's semi-common and just the torsion bars shifting a bit in their pockets. The only real fix would be a coil-over conversion, which I'm not up for.

I might have to give that link a closer look though.

Added a FuelPax mount on my Yakima Mega Load Warrior Rack to hold a 4.5 Gallon FuelPax.

I got the locking mount. But now I have two different FuelPax keys for my other 3.5 gallon FuelPax on my tire carrier

This is the furthest back I could put it where I can access from standing on tailgate or rear tire.

I am able to secure the mount using my existing Yakima accessories and locking bolt.

I oiled the holes and put a bolt in the mounting holes so debris won’t get in them when I don’t have the FuelPax installed (not pictured).

So now I have a total of 8 gallons of spare fuel when needed and it won’t take valuable space inside the camper shell. Better than nothing.
