i grew up in san angelo and i sure don't remember there being much in west texas...we did go to palo duro a time or so and it was ok. surprisingly, there seems to be a good bit of stuff to see and do out around austin. hiking and kayaking and a few state parks. i left out of there in the 80s, so maybe some stuff has opened up since then...

I grew up in Stanton/Garden City. I hung out in Big Bend or up at Alpine.
