If you do try to avoid Memorial Day - Labor day. The area is swamped. If you plan on camping and are having trouble finding a place check out the Lamonie State Park. It is fairly close with access to the ocean and clean wash houses.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I was planning to avoid holidays in general. LIkely would be at least a 5 day trip as I'm coming from Ohio. What time of year would be best to avoid inclement weather?

That would have been cool. I did get a short video of these wave clouds (or is it one really big cloud?). It was much more dramatic in person, like being under the ocean.
