Water filtration

We purchased the GuzzleH20 in preparation for our full time tour. I’ve used it a couple of times. Once as a transfer pump from a tank in the cab to the tank in the 4WC and once from a lake into the 4WC. The unit works as advertised, in fact, with an additional 25 ft of hose, we were pumping water about 30ft from the lake into our unit. It’s a great product and should easily last for years to come.

Looking at the picture of what's contained in the box, I see a single filter, pump and what looks like a UV filter. I'm sure the battery is in the bottom. I'm going to assume the prefilter is the strainer on the hose. Their also using a common quick disconnect on the hose. What I can see is they used all common parts. The short filters are what I use as well as the quick disconnects.

Do you know what filter element they use and how's the flow rate?

I’d have to go look at the filter replacement but it is very common looking- 3/4 gallon per minute. I think it is a 30 minute run per charge. I’m guilty of doing all the research, buying a product, then forgetting all the details.

I have the same short cartridge in my trailer. I run a solid block carbon filter. It killed my flow rate but I like the filtering. If that is a UV filter, you don't have to worry about parasites and can get away with a better flowing filter.

That it is, the UV filter was a selling point for me.

Guzzle h2o seems to be a good company but smritte is absolutely on the money. "What I can see is they used all common parts." In my research I stumbled onto the company that manufactures the UV light used by Guzzle. And you wouldn't believe where I bought it???? lowes.com................I know right!!! I was so excited for the $200 savings.

Now I will say that my install and requirements are very different than being portable. I have a siphon pump that can pull water 1/2" deep from 50' and vertical 30'! My assumption is that the unit you are referencing is the "Stream or Overland bundle." I did buy the replacement 10" filter housing and charcoal filter from guzzle but would absolutely go generic if I build it again. The one thing Guzzle does have that I cannot find anywhere else is the "push to pex" adapter.

I know how much I like my system so I am absolutely positive that you will love yours! The UV light is a game changer! I love the confidence of "From any water source" I am thinking that I will test my systems limits and pull water from these lovely brown, gator infested Florida canals and then have the water dept test it!! only $30 for absolute confidence right??????
