I passed the word to my son who is the S6 for the 101st. at Fort Campbell , KY.
Brilliant mate this is something that should be happening in the US. We see Overland Bound as a natural progression. Get the veterans involved in the building and preparing vehicles together then introduce them to OB and get the families involved, that way they can move forward together in a new community, something we all miss

I don't think we ever really adjust mate but we can get involved something with like minded people that really helps
I went on to university, then house and family, career, etc., etc. It was only after all that was going along that I realized something was missing. I found a veteran's post, and was instantly at home.

Here in the UK like many other countries we have an issue with PTSD and other health problems associated with our veterans who have served and fought for their country committing suicide or failing to integrate into society after leaving the forces.

OB member Billy along with other OB members and supporters offer these veterans an outlet to growth and recovery.
They do this through their charity Veterans in Action and part of that is Veterans Expedition Overland.

The guys get together and rebuild their vehicles and then use those same vehicles to overland throughout the UK, Europe and soon a trip to North Africa.

You can follow their progress as the rebuild their latest vehicle a 110 Land Rover Defender and see some of their trips and work they do.

Simply by subscribing, viewing and commenting on their videos you are doing something to help support our injured veterans and that support is very much appreciated and needed.

This is really awesome. This is honestly the reason I want to start overlanding. Getting out in the open terrain and camping under the stars. Hoping to get out of my own head and just breathe.

I’ve connected with two that way. My wife served after I did. Email and the beginning of social media was around when she was discharged, so she was able to stay connected with many of her mates. She doesn’t understand why I’ve felt isolated from the camaraderie.

As I said one day you had 200 mates and the next day none no mobile phones, no internet

Probably doing the same thing too.
This is one of the cool things among vets - often a short conversation or a few exchanges on a message board will turn up a link of some sort, even if they were in different branches. I was at Gordon in early 69 for AIT then on to 11th Signal and STRATCOM in southern AZ. Great duty in those days. especially for a draftee.
