I love my little Yamaha GL1 guitalele. It's tuned to A but you can play it just like any other guitar. Perfectly portable and only about $100 a guitar center or amazon.

I had a Taylor baby and it was easy to take along in it’s great gig bag, it just didn’t sound good enough, especially if ther was a full size guitar to compare it to
I bought a blemish Yamaha from GC for $100 and a cheap gig bag and that’s my camping setup
