I have been doing a lot of research and have done some trips just in my state. Now it’s time to get serious. I am wanting to build a trailer but don’t know wear to start. I’m going to mount a rooftop tent to the top of it so I’m using it for storage and food stuff. So I’m wondering if anybody could share ideas or even plans that I can take a look at. THANKS!

Are you starting from scratch? As in you know how to weld? If so there are lots of threads with peoples builds. If you are not a fabricator then most people buy some type of existing trailer and do minor modifications.
You also might narrow down what style and size you are looking to build. Basic tub trailer like an M416? Teardop? Etc.
The main thing is to just sit down and read a lot of threads. Also head over to the Expedition Portal. Tons of builds on that site.

I am building from scratch and now how to weld and do fab work. I am looking for more of just squared shape and drawers on them and some cabinets for slide out grills and other things. I have looked at doing a square tubing style, just didn't know if anybody had some plans to share.

I've built over two dozen trailers over the years. From simple utility trailers to drop deck equipment hauling trailers. I have great fun building things out of metal!
When building a trailer from scratch, obviously welding and knowing how to weld well is paramount. I follow lots of DIY trailer builds where folks have no idea how to weld and are trying to build a safe, road going trailer with a $100 welder from Horrible Freight. Can it be done, sure. Does it take skill....Absolutely. I just hope I'm not behind one of these trailers when it comes apart.
All this said, my most recent RTT trailer was built on a LOWES landscape trailer that came with a used RTT I recently bought.

I agree with what everyone posted. I have a small light trailer now with an RTT. I just started a tear drop (sort of) build. I've had the small one for a couple of decades. It's been great but, now I want a little more comfort. @RoyB built one from a Lowes platform, some people start with a Harbor Freight frame (too light duty for me) or a small box trailer and add in windows and interior. Mine started its life as an M100.
My new build started on paper almost a year ago. I've built different trailers but never an enclosed one. So yeah, read build threads. If your not sure which way to go, rent something and see how you like it. My original trailer has been to the Rubicon, Dusy as well as just camping in the desert. My new one will not be that hard core.

Honestly you'll get way more info by browsing the build threads. Go look at some manufactured trailers too.
Somewhere between Harbour Fright and Big Tex is likely the plan you want.
