Anyone planing on going to The Big Thing at the XOVERLAND ranch in Montana this July 9-12.
Overland Bound's African Ambassador Christoff Eilerd @Get Out GO will be ata the event giving some classes.
There is a fairly good chance that I will either meet up with Christoff on the trail prior to the event or meet him at the event. If I get enough interest I will set up a Rally Point for a get together.

@Michael
@Corrie
@PapaDave

I'll be going! Leaving from the Northern Idaho (Post Falls/CDA) area.

Cool, if I was to plan something a couple of days earlier for a meetup somewhere would you want to do that

Ah I don't think I'd be able to. Going to be working up until we leave for the event. Planning on leaving that Thursday morning the 9th.

No problem, I think I might just go to the event so hopefully see you there

Got my tickets to the event, hope to catch up with members during the weekend.

That sounds very cool actually. I’d love to go, but it feels dangerously close to the end of the other trip, and after that I’ll need to point the beast south again before the whole operation collapses under its own logistical insanity.

That said, I am entertaining the questionable idea of temporarily stashing the truck somewhere in the Pacific Northwest for July. A sort of mechanical hibernation while I regroup, recover financially, and pretend this lifestyle has any long term planning behind it at all.

We’ll see what happens. Chaos usually gets a vote.
