Information copied and pasted from original posting:

Mordor v10.0
When: May 01 (Thur.) to May 04 (Sun.), 2025
Where: This campout is on the east side of Craters of the Moon National Monument at an abandoned quarry about a mile down Jim Brown Bridge Road, Google calls it Sid Road.
Direction: About 4 miles east of the little Idaho town of Richfield on the HWY 26/93 to Craters of the Moon. Heading east out of Richfield four miles from the LDS church and cemetery you turn right on Jim Brown Bridge (Google Sid Road) (GPS N 43.08874 W 114.07611) and in a very little bit cross abandoned rail road and then cross a river on a single lane bridge. Follow the gravel road for less than a mile and the quarry is on the south/right side of the road.

As always with these Mordor trips, this is boon docking at its best. If you did not bring it with you, you will have to make do.

I expect to be in camp around Thursday afternoon.

I will not be arriving till Friday late morning. I have a 35 mile day trip planned for Saturday through the lava flows. I may put together a trip for Friday afternoon if anyone is interested.

Mordor v10.0 update

Boise meetup location, On The Run Travel Center, 10026 S Eisenman Rd, Boise, ID 83716, 7:00am May 2 (Friday)

If anyone wants to join the caravan from Boise information above. Notice that the event dates are May 1-4 (Thursday - Sunday). I am not attending till Friday (2), so dates are different.

I am planning a couple of side trips on the way to camp so there will be some trail driving on the way there.

I also have a 18 mile trip planned out if anyone is interested for Friday afternoon and then a 35-40 mile trip planned for Saturday.

Trails could be narrow and brushy in some places. Could be mud out there as well. Road could have rocks so make sure you have good tires.

This is not a guided tour and all who attend are ultimately responsible for their own safety. I am not responsible for damage, injury and or death. You partake under your own free will knowing the dangers of such activities.

Hope to see you there! George.

Day 1 on the Mordor v10 trip. We drove a old road abandoned from the 1930s. Found some interesting things.

Some more finds on the old abandoned road from the 1930's. Old cars and the old bridge piers. You know the bridge is old when the structure built on the old road bed is looks to be quite old itself. Notice that there are no bullet holes in the car. Shows how often this road is traveled now. The bridge looked to be petty substantial. They must have had big plans for this road at some point.

Day 1 of the Mordor v10.0. We made it to our camp spot and met up with others who were already there and who arrived throughout the rest of the day. It was hot in the sun so we rested in the shade. Dinner came and we took a hike down to the river once it cooled down. More fun tomorrow.

Last day of the Mordor v10.0 trip. It rained a bit overnight. It was a quick breakfast of oatmeal. As I was eating a fog blew in. Zeke wanted to stay in the trailer but finally had to boot him out so I could pack to leave. Soon Mordor v10.0 was over and it was time to head home.
