Dyneema mooring lines for ships and other vessels has a lifespan of 10 years. I don’t think I need to mention the very harsh conditions these lines are subjected to. Dyneema lines are also used on fishing vessels and have the same lifespan. I use synthetic dyneema line and will never again even consider wire rope.

My buddy is the captain of a 127 foot Bearing Sea crab boat. He uses absolutely nothing but Samson Rope products.

After working with him for a while I will never use cable again. Just don't be stupid with it and it won't fail.
