I was at a thrift store today and saw 2 small toaster ovens thought they would be cool to try did not buy one but its tempting..
Do any of you have a toaster oven for your overlanding trips..
I have a microwave that works but its just to big to drag along on trips the toaster ovens I saw were about 1/3 the size...

I am going back to the thrift store and take a pic may buy one just to try out on camping trip im going on in a couple of weeks..

We have a travel buddy which is designed for travel cooking (heavily insulated to prevent fires and maintain heat). Safe field use of a toaster oven designed for home use would depend on how you intended to use it. Assuming your inverter is able to handle whatever the T-oven requires, you would then need to ensure you had a safe place for it to get hot.

power and inverter are not an issue for me and item will be on metal shelf want to try out making stuff one would make in a toaster oven just for more cooking options..

Not the smallest but
I’ve have used a ninja toaster oven (Foodi SP101) a bunch, no issues at all

Kickass makes a 12v oven, may be good if concerned about power draw

Kickass products inc. makes a small toaster oven that uses 12 volt. I have been debating getting one of them or their small single sandwich toaster. The products I have bought from them in the past have been great quality at a resonable price. Australian company making overland based products. I think they are making the small oven with a glass front window for the Australian market but have not brought it here yet. The one sold here has a all metal door. I think it would be better with the glass doot so you would not loose heat when checking the food. I guess toasted sandwiches are a real big thing there and the single or dual sandwich toasters are a big item for them.

home depot has a 500w waffle maker. the weakest harbor freight inverter can handle that easily. you can grill a steak on this, cook waffle hashbrowns.
spam and waffles out in the middle of nowhere...life is good!

i've been seeing a lot more food related threads...merging overlanding with overeating.
i like what im seeing... :grinning:

I pulled the trigger today and ordered the KIckass toaster oven. Looking forward to biscuits and sausage gravy on the trail. Labor day sale and they are including the optons and a discount.

how many AH is your battery setup and what size inverter are you using just wondering ended up having to go out of town so did not get the toaster oven at the thrift store but think I will once I get back home.

I mainly use a Bluetti AC200L, it has a 2400W inverter and around a 160ah battery.
I've also used the ninja toaster oven on an inverter rated for 1500W with no issue

Take a look at 12volt-travel.com

They have a good selection geared to truckers and boat dwellers.
