Great meetup last night, Gabriel Fitzgerald brought his new Ineos Grenadier and we got to check it out from every angle. Our hosts Mike and Joe at M&J Automotive got the rig up on a lift so we could check out the suspension. One thing was very clear is that it is not a Land Rover clone, the suspension was very much jeep like and it had a SOLID front axle! Everything is purpose built and heavy duty.
Thanks to Michael and Corrie for attending, we look forward to seeing the video.

Great meetup last night, aproximatly 20 members made it to M&J Automotive.

Rob Willson who is a Captain for CalFire, gave a great talk about the basics of medical emergencies while on the trail. Robs experience as a firefighter and paramedic plus an avid off roader was a good combination.

May meeting will be 24v welding, you may not weld or want to weld but if you understand the system you will be a huge help in the field.

June meeting is 12 volt systems for your rig, Mike from M&J will have a display to show different systems.

PWORA Chainsaw Certification and Re-Cert Training

May 31 – June 2 2024

Eldorado National Forest Placerville Ranger District 4260 Eight Mile Road Camino, CA 95709
PWORA/RestoreTrails.Org is accepting ten (10) applications to attend federally certified chainsaw training. Each applicant will be reviewed independently. We are seeking students from both the Eldorado NF and Mendocino NF areas.
Training starts Friday, May 31, for those needing only a Re-Cert. Full certification classes start Saturday am and continue through Sunday at the Placerville Ranger District Office.
Students will be self-sufficient (food, travel, lodging if needed, chainsaw, and PPE). NOTE: Some PPE and saw materials may be available by request ahead of time.
Please provide documentation of your volunteer work with a club or group on public land. A letter from your club from a club/group officer will work just fine stating your participation in projects, clean- ups, work parties, or adopt a trail work. This shows your commitment to helping restore trails in the future, as we need certified chainsaw operators.
Additionally, students must come to training with in-person First Aid/CPR certification (Red Cross, American Heart, or other recognized programs issuing official certification).

Urgent help needed

As some of you know the frame on my Gladiator is bent, I need six to seven people to help me remove our OVRLND camper. I now its last min but could anyone help late this afternoon or tomorrow?

I will have 2x4’s between the bed and the camper to lift it up then drive the truck out and lower the camper onto saw horses.

It shouldn’t take more than 15 min to get it done, so if you can help out please reply to this or text me

A really great Overland Bound Sierra Foothills meetup last night at M&J Automotive. It didn’t matter what your knowledge level of 12 volt systems was, everyone got something out of Mikes presentation. The highlight was watching a too small of wire self destruct when it has a direct short. Since 2017 we have met at some really great locations, but M&J Automotive is the only place we can do stuff like this.
