I was using the older app. I just realized that there was OB1. Or maybe they are the same thing but the app has completely changed since I was on it last.
Make sure you delete the old app then re download the new OB1. It is a completely new app.

Hey Kent, check your dates... It’s currently August, and July past, unless this is for July 2021, in that case disregard

The Sierra Foothills Overlanders had a great social distance meet-up last night in the parking lot of Dry Diggings Distillery.
As a follow up to last months training on recovery gear, we went through the process of setting up single and double line winch pulls.

One question came up about winching hand signals and in usual fashion there was not a perfect answer. Below are some common hand signals used in the off road community but they are not the only ones used. The most important thing to remember is as long as the drivers, winch operators and assistants understand and agree what signals will be used you will be good to go.

Here are the links to the two hard shackles that have a MBL (minimum breaking limit) of 6x the WLL (working load limit)

October meeting recap:

Last night we had a great turn out for the meeting, the main topic was axillary electrical systems. The one thing I personally found out is that all Redarc two battery systems are not set up the same unlike the Genesis systems all seem to be installed the same way. Don't know which is better but the Redarc seems to be more modular. Mike Lee had a really nice Redarc system setup, if anyone has a 4Runner or Taco you might want to get in touch with him for some advice.

Two members had Jackery devices 1000 and 500 watts. Matt's 1000 watt model ran his Fridge and other 12v devices for 4 days without charging. This got my attention. I think the price is right around $1 per watt.

I was thinking we could do a trailer show and tell next meeting, some of us going to the Mojave Facelift/Trail Guardian event will be just getting back the day before so maybe we just keep hooked up and bring them to the meeting. Lots of members have trailers and some are interested in getting trailers. So if you have a trailer hook it up next meeting and lets see what everyone has.

FYI for those that have forded the Mojave River crossing or those that want to, the crossing has been filled in by the railroad. No additional info is available at this time. So if you own a Subaru nows your chance to get across. ;-)

Tire Repair class location has changed;
5050 Robert J Mathews Pkwy, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
0900-1300 hrs +-
Bring your tire repair kits, and if you are bringing a tire to practice on make sure it holds air. We will have tires to practice with but additional tires are always appreciated.
Please RSVP if you plan on attending so we have enough suplies.
