I'm building a rack on my 5X8 utility trailer for my Smittybilt Gen 2 XL Overlander. I don't have an annex, yet. Those of you that a have the same tent or similar, what heights are your RTTs at for the annex off of the ground? Smittybilt says that the annex is 84" tall., but it can work with anywhere between 48" - 84". 7' for the tent seems awfully high. But, it would be the ideal hight for the annex. I'm thinking of having the tent 6' off the ground, because that would put the top of the tent at the same height as the shell of my truck. 6'6" would be the ideal height, also, for me to walk under the tent comfortably.

yeah depends on your rack setup honestly. mine clears fine at stock height but if you're running anything beefy on top you might wanna go higher. what kind of roof rack you got? some of those rtt racks need more clearance than others. can also just drive it around and see if you hit anything before you lock it all in. that's what i did lol

A number of people have used linear actuators to make them adjustable. Keep it moderately low then raise it to what you want. Mine I kept low because I traveled harder trails.
