Roaming Lost: x3 Locked 1990 Toyota HDJ81 (80 Series)

After much dileberation... I didn't get Scheelmans. I have tried three different Corbeau seats, but they are just not that comfortable for touring.
I ended up getting some refurbed Recaro LXCs from Rolla in Malaysia. LXC has adjustable thighs and bolsters. So basically, it's the same seat as a Scheelman but at a fraction of the cost. He was recommended by someone who had gotten seats from him, so he seemed trustworthy. I was able to pay via PayPal / CC for protection. It only takes about a week to ship. I'll update when they come in.

Good to know! just picked up an 80 (bought it back from family) and been looking at Steelman's. definitely gonna look into this.
I just cant get over the price, ive sat in them and they are comfortable but 5k for 2 seats is a hard pill to swallow. So I think this route is as close as you can get but for 30% of the cost of scheelmans.

I'll definitely be interested in your experience. what are you doing for mounts? custom fab or?

But yes, that's rough for price. I've honestly thought about the Corbeau's but I'm glad i read your part about not comfortable for touring... as that's what I'll be doing most of the time with mine... so long distance comfort is super important.

I have corbeaus seats and their brackets. So I am hoping to use the brackets. Or at least make them work. Corbeaus are great. Just not the most comfortable when you’re on 8hr+ drives. Maybe not many seats are. But they are on the stiffer side.

curious, what are your plans with the Corbeau's? I might be interested if your selling (color?) they may work for me until I save up for the Scheelmans or Recarro's

Damn looking at your build (wish I had 3xlocked and the Diesel) it's exactly my goals! If you ever head up to the North Idaho or Montana area let me know! (our group up here has like 13 trips scheduled for this year if you're interested link in my sig) maybe we'll see each other on the trail!

How do you like the Stedi lights? are they the type x pros? I love the classic look of an ARB style bumper with the spot lights.

they are, and they're laser beams! I like them a lot.

Will do, def want to head that way this year.

Looks like coming along. Due to machine shop delays, my FZ motor took 6 months.
Did you get enough seat time in the recaros yet? Some people swap in the late model Rover seats. I think their a good step up from the stock ones. I'm in the same frame of mind about the scheel mann seats. Yeah their quality but.....ugh their expensive.
