We have the AEV Rhino Rack (not the same mounting style as your) with similar clearance issues. Getting the tent on there is completely doable, but it did present some challenges. We overcame them all but one of them that caused me a lot of frustration was getting my arm deep enough under the rack to secure the nuts on the brackets. At the time, I was using long bolts to get the fit right. Super frustrating to have a free spinning bolt you can barely reach and trying to get a nut threaded on. Anyway, got smarter and fabed up a better solution to eliminate the spinning bolt issue. Life got a lot better. Then, I stumbled on an offset ratcheting wrench. Can't tell you how much that made the whole process. So even with limited clearance, it's all doable.

Thanks! How easy is it to remove the platform. Secondly, does it interfere when you remove the freedom top?
*****Nice jeep I have the rhino pioneer platform on my unlimited as well. I've tried a lot of mounting styles for my rtt. What works best for me, I need all the height reduction in can get - being on 40" rubber, is to mount the tent directly to the tray.
I put the tent on the tray and opened it, removed the mattress. Next squared it to the tray then measured and drilled thru the perimeter base frame so that the holes are centered on the slots in the tray. Using 4 m8 bolts with the clamp nuts from rhino, I can (with a helper) set the tent on the back of the tray, drop the clamp nuts into the slots and slide the tent forward to drop the other set in
I can put the tent anywhere I want front to back. It's not quick release but it suits me and it sleeps better as the tent is flat on the rack.
I am a rhino rack dealer so I had some extra hardware.
