Questions about CPW Colorado and other Rocky MTN States

In my planning for my trip out west, I ran across the CPW site. It mentioned a permit for a licensed OHV. I'm my eyes, OHV's are 4 wheelers, buggies, ATV's, gators, etc. But I am questioning whether I need a permit to run my Ford on the trails. It might sound silly but I do not want any hassle and want to be sure. So I will ask the dumb questions.

Does Colorado require any permits for camping or driving my F350 on Public trails, BLM and Forest Service Roads? I believe no but have to ask.
What other legal requirements besides valid registration/insurance do I need to know about?
I have a diesel heater basically hidden in my camper setup so you cannot see the exhaust, do I need a spark arrester? During my build, I originally made one myself just in case but do I need a manufactured one that has a stamp on it. That verbiage came from the CPW OHV section of the site.

I would like to include the same questions for Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.

I'd say get the permit. I just finished a trip up to the UP of Michigan, bought a permit and felt good about doing so. When we travel west again next spring I'll get a permit from Colorado, just in case we decide to spend time there. The info says its necessary on 80 plus trails, im curious to know which trails would not need the permit.
