I am down for a game with some good old playing cards and the girlfriend insist on bringing a board game. Whats everyone favorite game to play while camping? How competitive does it get either individually or with friends?

C.A.H is a fun game.... But if kids are camping with you, Mexican Train Dominos is a fun, family friendly game.

We bring dice for 10,000 (like farkle) and Yahtzee, regular cards for Spades, Poker, Blackjack, Solitaire, etc, and when it's more than just my wife and I, we bring UNO.
This is pretty much a ditto for us. Boggle is fun too. We play Yahtzee a lot and Hearts card game. Of course, Cribbage is a great game for two.

Kind of related, the other day I was going through some camping stuff and came across the spiral notebook that we use to keep score for 10,000. It's the same notebook that we've been using for close to 10 years and still has all of the used pages. It was kind of cool to go through it and see names of all of the different friends and family that we have camped with. Brought back a lot of memories from past trips.

My kids have to have playing cards, they have several games they play at night around the lantern on the picnic table.

Uno and regular pack of cards are the 2 standards.

Kids also play individual games on their laptop / tablet / phone / DS, if they have taken that along as well.

Playing cards and a travel cribbage board goes with us everywhere. We have played 1000's of hands of cribbage and still never tire of the game. 6 dice also go in the accessory bag for farkle, etc.

My kids prefer cards, they can play while we're moving and when we're camping. Yes it does get competitive very often.

There is a card game I really think would make a great camp game, it's called cayoti would be a blast around the campfire! But might need enough light to play it.
