New to this this group but not to overloading. I have been overlanding in one for or another since the 90's when I was station at Holloman AFB. Have had a few vehicle over the years. Just starting our new to us 2009 Tacoma, our first Toyota build. Can't do as many of the rough trails as we used to after my wife got sick but hope to go as many place as we can while we can.fullsizeoutput_3a3.jpegjeeptrailer.jpgIMG_8178.JPG

Hello Lynard, welcome from Oklahoma. Love the old school square body Chevy/GMC and the Cherokee... have/had both myself.

You are in the Southwest Region. Check out the Southwest Region sub-forum for local information and involvement opportunities.

Here is the link to the forum calendar and Meet-Up event page: Overland Bound Meetups. Keep a look out for an East Valley meet up in Gilbert.
Or to check out what other members are planning go here: Overland Trip Planning

I am the SW Region Member Rep so if you have any questions let me know.

Hi Lynard, welcome to the OB community. Nice pictures. Sorry to hear of your wife's illness, and don't mean to pry, but is it an ongoing thing or will it improve with time. No matter, glad you are part of the group.

Long story short. She was diagnosed with Lyme disease 5 yrs ago. The Lyme is in remission but caused a possible hereditary disease PKD/PLD to get started early with her low immune system. No cure for PKD/PLD currently.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Glad to hear Lyme is in remission but so sorry to hear about the PKD/PLD issues. If you have not objection I will be praying for the two of you and that a cure might be found.

Welcome and post up whenever you want to head out and I am sure you will find someone to go with and show you around.
I really need to post about my daytrips and weekends with more advance notice and get to know some folks around here.
