will be traveling from southern CA to Bend for the expo. Looking for ideas and places of good camping and trails along the way. ideally want to stay close to the coast as possible since most of our trips are in the sierras and the mojave.

We were trying to attend expo west before covid and now the PNW gets a expo and we will be attending this pone this year and maybe the Loveland expo next year!

Very cool. I'll be down at the fairgrounds in June for the Gambler. Maybe I'll make a second trip in July.

Go figure, there's already two out of 3 Expos West of the Mississippi lets make that 3 and us in the Southeast are still out of luck to get our own Expo. How about make a Northeast and Southeast before you add another one out West. Well congrats to those of you that live in the Oregon area, I'm officially jealous!

Why the Pacific Northwest Is the Perfect Place for Overland Expo’s Newest Show - Overland Expo®
Brutal honesty is that the bulk of the vendors in the aftermarket off road and overland gear are mainly east of Mississippi, and there are probably more folks that rig their vehicles for climbing up the side of a mountain rough terrain travel out there near one of the shows, and that's what vendor$ like. Would I attend a western Overland show? Only if I was passing through on a trip out that way, but I wouldn't spend the gas money or time just to go out there for a show. I could see stopping in to the AZ show, only because my best friend lives in Phoenix, and I would go to visit him, but I wouldn't drive to it from North Carolina. I'd fly, rent a car take in 2 days, and blow out. Truth be told, If I were to go out west, it would be to go to Scottsdale to take in another Barrett-Jackson auto auction as I have done in the past. I know I couldn't afford anything at that show, but it sure does makes for nice automobile porn sensory overload being there for a few days, and dreaming.

Maybe if my wife and I are near one of the shows when we do our cross country overland trip in the future, we'll visit one of them.

Money makes the world go round.....

I was really hoping to make this Expo this year. Plan was to head that way from Miami for the show and slowly make my way back to South Florida. Unfortunately with the way gas prices jumped up the last couple months, plus getting a new job, that idea went out the window.

Hopefully it goes very well and they put it on again for next year.

Kent, any idea what the difference between the premium camp sites and general ones will be at OE PNW? This is my first time attending and am curious if I should spend the extra cash on the upgrade (and classes too). Thanks!
I will try and find out, but if its anything like the other expos you will have more room and be closer to the show. For instance the upgraded campsites at Expo West were right next to the event and the general camping was about 3/4 of a mile away.

Since this is the first PNW Expo, unfortunately we will just need to see what the setup is.

Hello,
I popped up a Rally Point Event on the calendar for the Thursday Departure to PNW Overland Expo.

If you are going, sign up and we will see if we can hook up and caravan up there and maybe camp together if we all have the same type of passes.

This is only my second expo and I have never camped there, so not sure what the procedure is once arrive.
Check In closes for the campgrounds at 6pm so we will (I) will be leaving from the Bay Area early in the AM

Otherwise if timing does not work for ya, we can use it as a list and connect during the Expo to say Howdy.

What type of passes do y’all have?
