This weekend I plan to make a run up to Arkansas. This will be our first overlanding trip. We'd like to camp at the White Rock Mountain campground. However, if the weather gets worse (colder or wetter) we'll probably go 'camp' in Van Buren at a hotel or return to Bella Vista.
In general all trails between 71 and 23 are fair game. I've been exploring using Gaia, IVM and MVUMs and have the following course planning:
My big concern is water crossings. I've already been told that Frog Bayou is low. Don't know about Hurricane Creek yet. I have no desire to be a U-Boat captain so the smallest indication that a water crossing is too deep will have me back tracking.
There are tons of open trails in the area, but are there any you guys would recommend?
