I am a north easterner living in south Texas we have a great beach we can drive and camp on but I find myself missing tresses and fresh water. I am told the Ozark is a great place to go.

I’m looking to take 4 days in October maybe and drive the 12 hours from South Texas to go wheeling.
I wanted to see if anyone one had any tips, suggestions on trails, what forest you would recommend?

I like the Quachita’s with easy access to the lake. However, I have found more challenging trails in the Ozarks. Trailsoffroad.com has some good ideas for trails to do in either location.

Car wash falls is fun, but not very long. Spainhour falls is good, but gets overgrown near the end. Piney creek road near haw creek falls isn’t necessarily a trail, but does degrade into some fun stuffIMG_2414.jpgIMG_2401.jpg
