Bringing Back the Friday Night EchoLink Net!

I’m restarting the Friday Night Nets we used to have on EchoLink! I’ve created a new EchoLink node called W6UXD-R, open to anyone who wants to join. Along with that, I’ve set up an AllStar Node (64658) that will be linked for the net.

This is a space for overlanders, ham radio operators, and anyone interested in both to come together once a month to chat about overlanding, ham radio, or anything else that sparks good conversation.

Hi everyone,

Getting everything finalized for the net this Friday! Just a quick heads-up that I needed to update the connection details I previously shared due to some tweaks during testing and a correction on my initial information. Please make sure to check the connection details below carefully before joining the net.

Looking forward to chatting with you all as we work on bringing some life back to this net!

Connection Details:
  • EchoLink Node: W6UXD-R (Node 448622)
  • Allstar Node: 64658

Connecting via Allstar: Allstar users can connect to node 64658. If you are using a connected radio, you will typically dial *3 followed by the node number (e.g., *364658) to connect. If you are using an Allstarlink interface on your computer, you can usually enter the node number directly.

EchoLink Information: If you're new to EchoLink, you'll need to register your call sign with EchoLink and have your license validated by them. Once that's done, you can connect using their software on your phone, tablet, or computer.

How are you connecting to EchoLink? Phone, computer, repeater?

Thanks for the QSO. Hopefully next time I can get it all working before the net is over.

Thank you everyone who connected to the net and for barring with me on EchoLink technical dificults. I know I was not the only one having issues tonight but mine are now solved. Tonight we had check-ins from:

VK7VWK - @rtexpeditions
@KD7WCD

Topics were Overland Style Trailers and HF radio. Hopefully everyone can make it again next month.

3 more days tell the NET. Hope to chat with you all there this Friday.

We are 2 weeks away from the net. I’ll be running the net this coming month from the Texas Fall Avid Outdoor Expo. If your at the expo drop on by and say hello.

Hey everyone I am at camp tonight and having some connection issues so I can not connect to all the nodes. You can find the net on *overland* on EchoLink tonight.

It’s 2032 here in central standard time. I’m calling it for the net and going back to family and overland friends here. Sorry I did not get any check in’s tonight and hope you all have a great weekend.

Just a few weeks away from the next net. Hope you all are having a fantastic October

Will there be a net next Friday (2/6)? I used to frequently listen and occasionally run the Outdoor Adventure USA net if anyone remembers that. I'm looking forward to finding another net to discuss overlanding and adventure.
