Figured it was time to finally put together a build thread for our rig.

Well we are at a stand still at the moment. Truck has been in the shop for the last 3 weeks. Transmission problems at 16000 miles.

As soon as we get it back there are a lot of changes on the way.

CST 4.5” lift kit and coilovers.
Road Armor front and rear bumpers.
Moving the 12k winch to the front. Adding a 9k to the rear.
ARE custom reinforced cap.
Replacing running boards with custom rock sliders.
34” tires
And a complete communications rig. HAM, GMRS and CB.

8 speed, I really hope the dealer can fix the issue. If not, we will be starting a new build thread for a different truck.

Well it looks like my truck is a Lemon. Out of service at the dealer for over 40 days total. Just waiting to hear back from GM about a replacement truck.

Ah man sorry to hear that. I had the similar thing happen to my 2012 BMW 328i. Was in the shop for about 6 weeks. Got a new engine under warranty for the wait. Good luck man.

Hey, great truck, sorry to hear about the issues. What was the tire size you had on it? I have a leveling kit, and want to beef up my 2017 Silverado tires without any rubbing or going to crazy. Thanks

Thanks, No lift kit at all. It was a stock 2018 LTZ Midnight edition which gave it the 18" rims with the AT Mud tires. I believe they are 31"

Trans problems.....6 speed, or 8? A software or mechanical glitch?, aka.....programming. The new 10's are having issues also (programming). Also get back with us Silverado owners about the Rock sliders you find, and the details on them:grin:

You should be able to run 33" without any problems with a 2" level kit.
Thanks, I'm like you in that I still have my stock tires on there since I didn't want to waste money and buy new tires without running the current ones down, but i'm getting close to finally buying.

Wish we had a Silverado Club(s) similar to Jeeps to get more ideas out there easily

Well, this has been a heck of a process. My truck is officially a Lemon and Chevrolet is going to replace it. If all goes well, will be moving to a 2019 High Country with the 6.2 and 10 speed transmission. Not willing to take the chance on the 8 speed again.

That's a good trade if you ask me. Those High Country editions are awesome!
