Awesome story. I can remember a few years ago, I was up in Snoqualmie pass on a USFS fire road in about a foot of snow, when I came across a young, inexperienced couple who had put their Jeep Cherokee over a small embankment and got stuck. No radio, no cell reception, cold, worried...as I pulled him out he said, " I don't think this is for us." I encouraged him to stick with it, gave him some pointers, and followed him down to safety. I often wonder if he listened to me and met up with other overlanders, gained experience, and is out there somewhere helping someone else...or if he did give up on overlanding all together...I prefer to believe the former...and smile.
