With power too! What's the inside set-up? I like the fog (?) lights too; I need to look at something like that for mine; I have the big old chrome bumper that didn't come with fog lights.
The lights are Hella driving lights, about 2X as bright and 2X the distance as my high beams

Thanks! Before retiring I did electronic/ electric installations on the big offshore fishing machines. If any of you folks need any technical advice or suggestions give me a shout, I would be glad to help.

Very nice build! Did you do it all yourself? Have you taken it off road? Any regrets having. 2 who drive? Here is my situation I have a spectacular 2018 Jeep rubicon. Well set and can go where I want alone. We are moving from Carlsbad ca to Oakhurst ca (by Yosemite) it’s is a 6 hour drive and the catch is I will still be working in San Diego area. So even before COVID-19 I was planning on building out a van. Use it as a mobile office and place to stay. Stealth camping But deep down inside I always wanted a 4x4 van. But they are so expensive. So I thought I would go 2 whl drive. I know I can lift the dodge pro master or the ford transit. And if I ever struck it rich I could convert the ford to 4 whl dr. But in the meantime I wondered just how far I could go in a 2 whl drive. So how far can you go in 2 whl drive.?

I did all the work myself except the brakes and airlift. It’s been a work in progress thru the years with what works and what dosent. When searching for the van years ago the main requirements were a hi-top, White because of the Fl. sun, 350 small block and 3/4 ton. Looked for months but couldn’t find a 3/4, all the van conversion companies usually use 1/2 tons to cut costs. The airlift definitely I a huge asset with carrying gear and trailering. It lifts the back around 4”, the HD brake system solved the small brake issue, things are massive.
AWD wasn’t too common back then, but seriously it’s a truck. It has more ground clearance than our Subaru Outback when you look at them parked side by side. When considering tires road noise and wear were a major factor with 98% of the miles would be hard road and highway. I went with Michelin Defender M/S. I never had a issue on any State or Forest road. We have been all thru Colorado and was even on the Alpine Loop. The van is a great base camp with all the comforts of home and when it’s time to strike camp after a rainy night,packing up wet gear?,we pull the plug and were back on the road. We take our Outback or when in Colorado rent Jeep Rubicons weekly in different sections of the state when we want to get deep in the back country but the van gets us 95% of the way. Renting sure beats car payments for years, high insurance, maintenance, impractical daily driving.
Sound like a van would be perfect for your work and office, lots of great and unique designs out there. If you have any questions for your build give me a shout! It really wasn’t a lot of $$ to build, sure beats dropping $175k for a new one. Pix is the Loop in Co!

Here's my 2WD TRD Sport Tacoma. I never had plans of off-roading and camping when I purchased it but she continues to serve me very well.

Same for me, I have an 04 Prerunner and I love it. Definitely wish I woulda went the 4x4 route now days but then again, since its a daily driver its probably better that I didn't cause I would have definitely broke something by now trying to head deeper in the trails.

Just some light trail driving with my 2wd Tacoma. I don't venture to deep but I'm sure it saves me some money in the end. One of these days I'll give it a small lift with larger all terrain tires and throw on a wench.

People tend to think "4WD" when it comes to Jeeps but not all of them are. I have an '88 Jeep Comanche (an MJ) that is 2WD. It's an early Eliminator model which means it has the deluxe interior trim package. Later Eliminators had 4WD as an option. All Eliminators had the short 6' box while some other models offered a 7' box. Eliminators came with multi-port fuel injection and 177 bhp as standard whereas the other MJ models had that as an option. Otherwise they would have throttle body injection and 121 bhp.

A lot of 2WD MJ's have been converted to 4WD. Basically find an XJ Cherokee parts car and a way you go. I've collected all of the parts that I need but I'm not sure yet if I want to convert it. This thing is a lot of fun to drive as is. It's basically stock and it goes like stink ... for a Jeep.

I admit that I have not camped with mine as I have other Jeep and trailer options. I do take it on kayaking/fishing day trips though. It's great for that as there's no need to put them up on a rack and there's still plenty of room for extra gear. I also use it for trips to the dump and Home Depot as well as hauling home used Jeep parts.

Hoping to be at the point to hit the trails this summer. Feels close until I look at my list :(. Yes, that is overspray on the windshield, it is delaminated and cracked so I pulled it out, cleaned up the pinchweld, then set just the glass back in for paint. Saved having to mask off that complex curved area. I love the front seats at the butt, but will be coming back out and stock going back in. As comfy as they are, they change the vibe and feel behind the wheel. I miss that VW bus slouch over the wheel :). Still have to wire the house, finish the cab area, replace windshield, bleed the brakes, replace muffler, and a bunch of little things.
