That is a conundrum.... how about grounding out to the frame or body instead of the battery?
Going to use a Rear Seat Bolt, or the Bolt that holds the Jack down. I'll likely break out my continuity tester to check a few spots. Right now Im waiting for a smaller version of the Bluesea Box I currently have so i can mount it under the rear seat.

Look for a ground strap coming off the negative cable between that load detector and the engine or body and land it with that.
There is a ground strap just below that sensor on my Xterra and that's where I have my radio ground.
