North Spain in mid September

NP Los Picos de Europas might be worth a visit for you. For getting to Northern Spain I recommend an often overlooked route. Because you could cross France more or less in the middle and get to Bielsa tunnel south of Toulouse. Nice winding road up and down to the top and there is the tunnel. It is usually open 365 years of the year (except severe weather and so). You enter Spain then in the also interesting area north of Huesca.

According to Maps it would take about 15 hrs to reach the tunnel. Any recommendations where to make a break for the night on this trip?

Did a stopover on a nice campsite near Dijon several times - see OB map.

I guess @paul87250 has more recommendations for good places on the way.

Depending on your mode of transportation, in France you can virtually stop and sleep everywhere just check the park4night app.

A little Jeep with rooftop tent is my vehicle of choice.

Btw. I‘ve found the website for the tunnel:

Maybe this was interesting for someone else.

Cool! There is also a webcam somewhere to see the conditions up there, useful in winter.

Plenty of places to stay around here, OB members are more than welcome to stop over with us we are 10 mins off the A20 near Limoges

Hey Paul, Are you from Spain? Actually, I am also looking for a trip to Spain later this year. I was looking for guides from Spain Private Tours & Local Tour Guides Can you recommend any local guide there as an alternative?

Sorry I am not from Spain, but there are plenty of great resources for routes in Spain, try searching for road books, we like Vibration but there are plenty of others.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers Paul
