Nite Ize figure 9 carabiner

Nite Ize, the company behind Maglite has a couple of products that I discovered recently, that are reall useful secure gear and around camp. The Figure 9 carabiner and the Figure 9, They tighten, add tension, and secures ropes without knots. They great for sercuring paracord for hanging tarps, wet clothes, lanters, etc. They are a few videos online showing all the uses.

I use these all the time. They work great.

I have a few version of these. Every once in awhile I'll pull them out but I find that these are not all that secure on their own and have had them slip. I always seem to end up dack at just using a good knot. You can do a lot with a hank of rope and a good knots.
