Will the 275 mic fit on a 400? Trying to decide if the 400 is worth the extra price. I do like the fact that the 275 has everything in the mic. So just seeing if I can have the watts and the mic. If not then Ill have to make another choice.
I doubt it, and if it did I'm not sure if it would control everything. The MXT400 is a rebranded Chinese radio a TYT TH9000D with GMRS specific programing and a Midland sticker.

That puts this radio at what 2yrs (maybe 3yrs) out from what supposed to be the original release date.

Depends on where you are located…
Yep and if the groups you run with use GMRS or not. In my experience most of them out my way do. I've only met one group who runs CB, and no big group I've run with uses HAM. However the group I'm helping build up does use all 3 to some extent. At least the main members do.
