Greetings OB and friends. I'm from Bellingham, WA.

I have a mostly stock 2013 Tacoma DCLB TRD Sport. Looking to learn a little about Overlanding for fun family adventures. Looking to keep it practical/simple with a goal of completing the WABDR.
Hey, welcome to OB! Your sure to get lots of information from this forum! Safe travels and enjoy those open roads@!

Welcome from Shoreline, Wa. A good portion of the BDR can be done in a stock truck.
Long beds rule! I have a 2013 DCLB sport as well. The back up camera helps to make up for the length when doing 80,000 point turns on tight trails.

Thanks for the kind welcome fellas, this already feels like a great community.

I was born in Georgia but left early in life but spent some brief time there enroute to the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Alabama a few years ago. It was October here so rainy and cold but GA/AL was a sunny 80s. Beautiful area I'd like to see more of some day.

That's awesome to hear. I've had some apprehensions about the DCLB being too long and have considered trading into a SB, partially for atrac and a locker but I don't think the 5ft bed would be great for daily life.

I don't think it makes that much difference. At least half the Tacoma guys around me have long beds and go everywhere the short beds go.

Hello & welcome from Redmond! Here & there are some good posts re trails up Mt. Baker way & especially over the Cascades. I too am hoping to do the entire WABDR next summer with my family & 2 vehicles. JDunk has a nice YouTube of his family doing it last year (he did ORBRDR this year). You also just missed Michael & Corrie up at Salmon LaSac about a month ago-it looks like they come by here annually. Super nice people and a great community around them!
