For anyone that’s run this before, what are the approximate amounts of spare fuel/ water that y’all generally go through. Making sure I have everything well in advance. Probably just myself for this trip but any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

Small detail but for those who are checking maps and areas, the 2 cities in Arizona are Fort (FT) Mohave and Bullhead City........Also of note, there are several casinos in Laughlin (couple miles down the road) for those looking to get a room the night before you leave.

I did it last spring in a basically stock 2017 4Runner. Though I had extra fuel I did not need it. The Jeep drivers were using their reserve fuel.

Be Prepared!

Hi BJP,

I have a stock 4runner as well. Just curious, did you go through the water crossing? If so, what depth was it? If not how much of a detour was it to avoid the water crossing.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Mike for organizing this amazing OB trip! I looked over your recommended Rig Modifications, but I have a stock 2017 4runner 4wd and new to Overlanding. I never done a water crossing above 6". Just checking to see if it's ok to join with my given skill level.

Was also planning an extended trip. Would love to travel with a group. Will anyone else be doing any shooting and will anyone take offense?

From the Mojave National Preserve website:
Firearms
The discharge of firearms is allowed only while legally hunting. Target shooting or "plinking" is prohibited. All firearms transported within the preserve must be unloaded, cased, and broken down, except during lawful hunting activities. No shooting is permitted within ½ mile of dwellings, hiking trails, campgrounds, information centers, Kelso Dunes, Fort Piute, or any other public gathering areas.

....I think the outlying BLM land is open to target/range shooting though, just FYI. M
