Planning on doing the Mojave Road in the beginning of November. Has anyone been out there at this time? We are just trying to get some prep ideas.

Been in the area many times that time of year. The nights can be cool and around the Cedar Canyon area day temps can be really nice. If you camp at Caruthers Canyon it can cold at night. Other than that, both the East and West lower desert areas temps can range from the 70's to high 80's in the day time and of course, cooler at night.

I'm planning to head out there Oct 27-29 if you're interested. Trying to keep it to a small group--only maybe 2 tentative "yes" so far.

We are planning a trip on the Mojave Road the weekend of Nov 11th. Going from east to west, We’re either starting Friday the 10th or Saturday the 11th if anyone’s interested. We have two vehicles so far.

I’ve done many trips in the east Mojave this time of year. Prepare for cold nights, possible rain and perfect days.

I will be on the Mojave going from East to West. Got 4 or 5 rigs going. Anyone interested? Starting October 13th. Doing a Meet & Greet at Pioneer Casino October 12th. Sorry for the short notice I recently discovered this amazing place to post with others.

Tom, Dave and Mike in a Tundra and a couple jeeps? I started the 13th as well, wondering if we crossed paths?

Did you see an FJ Cruiser and 2002 Tacoma with bright orange flags? We had 3 Fj's, 2 Jeeps, 1 Silverado (white) 2 Tacomas ( white & black). 8 vehicles total.
Oh, yeah, I think I saw your group camped just past Kelbaker road on Saturday night? That looked like a good spot, made a mental note to camp there next time I'm passing through that area.

You must have had fun passing that group of 10 jeeps going west to east!

How is Caruther's Canyon Road up to Table-Top? Would I be okay in a stock 2011 Silverado? 4wd

If the spot you are talking about is on the south side of the road at the base of a hill, it's pretty good. It was windy when I was there, though.

Hi Wheelnmac-

Like the early November date. I'm coming from NorCal so was thinking of a 4 day run hitting the many side trails. What are your plans at this point?

SO I seen some have done the trip and some yet to go, it would be really helpful that once dates are set you do a Rally Point (which will start a thread for that trip), maybe it was me but it seems I can not really tell for sure what trips are yet to go and when....

Just my 2 pennies worth as an interested joiner.

I just got back Sunday night from the Mojave Road. Weather was perfect! We went east to west, camped the first night at Camp Phallus. If you get the big campground at the base of the balancing rocks it will be worth it. The other campsites we saw were in wooded areas with limited views. Temperature at this site was comfortable despite being at about 5600'. No pit toilets that we could find. In April we stayed at Mid Hills Campground, it was great! But really cold, at about the same elevation. When we go back, it will be Mid Hills again, far better camping overall. 2nd night we camped at Green Rock Mill. This is the second time we have camped there. It provides amazing views all around and is located on the eastern side of the Soda Dry Lake. The Dry Lake was dry when we crossed out. Due to coming across some other people going west to east who reported that the water was running high, evidence of such was visible on the side of their lifted Silverado, we opted not to cross the river and bailed out at Rasor Road. Myself and two friends were on big adventure bikes (1200GSA & 2 KTM 11190's) while my Dad was driving my Jeep JKU & my uncle was in his Colorado diesel. Your time of travel should be perfect!
